Herbarium
Temporarily closed. The Botanical Garden of Ferrara preserves an Herbarium with dried plants that bear testimony to the close tie between the city, the University of Ferrara and the botanical sciences
Although small in size, the Herbarium has approximately 16,000 specimens between the ancient and modern collections. As one of the most important herbaria in the world, it has been officially recognized by the international science community and is registered in the Index Herbariorum (the official catalogue of all the public herbaria in the world) with the acronym FER. The oldest collections go back to 1800.
Opening
Monday through Friday: 9.00 am – 1.00 pm (closed on Saturday, Sunday and holidays)
The Herbarium visits are by reservation only (20 persons maximum)
