Urban Park G. Bassani
Now this area of about 1,200 hectares has become an urban park, divided into several green spaces equipped for leisure-time activities. It is a place of transition between the urban area and the fields used for agriculture, with then city walls running through it. Thanks to this "green addition" (the fourth historical enlargement of the city) the border of Ferrara now reaches the river Po. Several social and sport facilities are located here: the C.U.S. (University Sport Centre), the municipal swimming pool and a Leisure Centre for Senior Citizens. In front of the ramparts and alongside the walls, there are bicycle paths and protected footpaths.

How to get here
By car: A13 exit Ferrara Sud, exit on via Eridano direction city center, continue on via Modena and viale Po. Turn left on via Porta Catena, along the northern walls of the city. At the traffic lights turn left into via Canapa for the park entrance, or turn right for the principal access (via Bacchelli).
By Bus: urban line 4c from the train station to Piazzale Dante, 5 minuts walk from the park entrance on via Bacchelli, and line 11 from the historical center (Piazza Duomo / C.so Giovecca / V.le Cavour), to the access on via Canapa.
