Coats of Arms Room
This displays twin decorations from the Pontifical period. The older is a long series of shields with the papal
tiara and the keys of St Peter, Beneath this is a decoration with the coats of arms of the Cardinal Papal Legates
who had their residence in the castle. The lower part is occupied by a decoration made in 1857 on the
occasion of the visit of Pope Pius. More coats of arms and some views of the Ferrarese territory of that time.
Leaving the hall you come onto the sixteenth century spiral staircase that brings you back to the courtyard.
