Trot Centre
The Trot Centre (Centro del Trotto) conserves an impressive collection, unique in Italy, of documents, prints, mementoes and objects on the discipline of trot racing of great historical-documentary interest. This collection, originating from a donation by Mr. Raffaele Martini, makes a fundamental contribution to understanding the Migliarino area, which was once known for its widespread involvement in horse breeding. The Martini Fund has provided many stimulating suggestions and curiosities, including thorough and often very rare documentary services, to explain a legacy of great interest for the world of sport, for schools and for businesses in this sector. This collection is the result of decades of study and patient research, historical reconstruction, acquisitions, and interventions in antique and collectors’ markets, which have taken place for over forty years of enthusiastic and meticulous research. The potential of the Centre has made it a national point of reference for documentation and research into the sport of trotting. This involves a varied cultural selection of documentary and museum exhibits, including editorial and study material, as well as material for investigating related themes further.
