Teatro Comunale

The Ferrara Musica Committee organizes in the Theatre, seasons of hight quality concerts and operas. In spring and Autumn the city hosts the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Great directors have performed at the City Theatre, e.g. C.M. Giulini, N. Harnoncourt, J.E. Gardiner or C. Abbado, as well as orchestras like Berliner end Wiener Philarmonikers. Besides the concert and opera seasons, there are also the dance season (from Janury to December), one of the most important in italy, and the drama season, including several premières. Moreover the Saturday afternoons, from November to April, concerts of young Italian musicians take place in the thetre foyer.
