The Pomposa Museum
The Pomposa Museum is housed above the Chapterhouse, in what was once the dormitory.
Inside on display there are pieces from excavations and restoration works: inscriptions, marbles, and rare stuccoes from the original decorations of the church, majolica tiles and archaeological finds of various types as well as some detached frescoes.
These finds have made a significant contribution to the knowledge of how the church developed over time: the floor plan was originally based on the Ravenna model of basilica of the 7th-8th century.
