Carlo Savonuzzi
(Ferrara 1897 - San Remo 1973)
Carlo Savonuzzi (Ferrara, 1897 - San Remo, 1973) worked in Ferrara between the 1920s and the 30s, period in which he improved as an architect thanks to his older brother Girolamo (main engineer of the city from 1925 to 1943), and to the many incentives and personal experiences gained during his successful carreer.
Carlo Savonuzzi graduated in civil engineering in 1922. Two years later he became technical director of the Società Idroelettrica del Secchia; in 1926 he was hired as engineer at the Ufficio Tecnico Comunale di Ferrara and between 1926 and 1928 he was assigned some important projects, such as the city stadium, Torre della Vittoria and the Foro Boario. These prestigious tasks, along with the ones received in the 30s (“Alda Costa” Primary School, Natural History Museum, Conservatory of Music, ecc.), made Carlo quite popular, maybe even more than his brother Girolamo, who also worked on important urban projects in Ferrara.
