CASONE PEGORARO
The Comacchio lagoon area was divided into four districts, each comprising a major and several minor stations. Located on the eastern bank of the Ungola Canal, Casone Pegoraro was one of the minor fishing stations. Popular tradition associates the name of this fishing hute with the arrival of shepherds with their flocks who stayed inside the casone at Christmas time. First evidence of Casone Pegoraro in maps dated 1628.
