Oasi di Vigarano Pieve

Close to the Ferrara–Bondeno cycle path, a former quarry has been transformed into a public green space.

The Oasi di Vigarano Pieve is a splendid example of environmental restoration: an open and evocative setting featuring playgrounds, a birdwatching tower and a refreshment area. Located just 4 kilometres from Ferrara, it is easily accessible by bicycle via the Burana cycle path.

Managed by the Ferrara Canoe Club, the Oasis is an ideal place to relax in nature. Its refreshment area offers more than 50 indoor seats and 100 outdoor seats overlooking the park. The entire perimeter of the lake is accessible, making it perfect for cycling, running or simply enjoying a peaceful walk surrounded by nature.

The Oasis also hosts tourist and sporting activities, including canoeing and kayaking, canoe polo competitions (with a permanent canoe polo field), and facilities for sprint canoe training. Visitors who would like to try paddling can join the “Try Canoeing” program, which offers an introduction to canoeing with the opportunity to enrol in a full course afterwards.
