The mill on the Po
Prices
Free admission to the mill during the first season.
The mill on the Po river is not only an open air museum, but it also represents an actual symbol of the local manufacturing industry.
Located in Ro, it is an accurate reconstruction of an old water mill.
It is an accurate reconstruction of the common water mills that used to populate the river until 1912. It represents the simplest model, with one waterwheel and a perfectly functioning millstone.
It is 12,20 metres long and 9,36 metres wide.
It can be visited thanks to the equipped landing stage on the Po floodplain.
It is not just a museum, but the heart of a cultural and tourist system that weaves together history, landscape and community, drawing inspiration from the literary and cinematic imagery associated with the Po.
The Mill thus becomes a focal point for slow tourism, educational activities, storytelling and the promotion of local traditions.
Around the Mill, the area has developed into a lively and welcoming space, offering catering and accommodation services, guided tours, educational workshops for schools and experiences for a variety of visitors.
