The Botanical Garden of the University of Ferrara, with its greenhouses and irregularly shaped flowerbeds, is almost rectangular in shape and covers an area of 4,500 square metres within the grounds of Palazzo Turchi-Di Bagno.
In addition to being open to the public, the main activity carried out by the Botanical Garden of Ferrara is educational, linked both to botany courses for university students and to science lessons taught in primary, middle and secondary schools.
The Garden also plays an important supporting role in the scientific research carried out at the Department of Biology and Evolution, to which it is affiliated.
