
Altedo Green Asparagus IGP
The excellence of the Emilia-Romagna plain
In the fertile land of the Po Delta, where water and sand mix and create a perfect balance, grows one of the finest vegetables in Emilia-Romagna: the Green Asparagus of Altedo IGP. In this area - from Mesola to Bondeno - gathers about 40% of the regional production, thanks to a unique climate which brings out its flavour and quality.
The asparagus of Altedo stands out for its refined flavour, which has made its way not only in Italy, but in Europe as well. It is present in many springtime recipes, like risottos and flans but also simpler dishes that require just a teaspoon of oil to enhance its flavour.
This vegetable also has important nutritional properties: it is high in fiber, low in fats and sugar, and contains mineral salts like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium. It is also a natural source of vitamin A, B6 and C, antioxidants and folic acid, elements that make it a great ally in everyday wellbeing.
Symbol of Spring and the generous land of Emilia-Romagna, the Green Asparagus of Altedo IGP is an excellence that brings together flavour, health and agricultural tradition - a real ambassador of the area between the Po river and Adriatic Sea.
