Achille Funi. Un maestro del Novecento tra storia e mito
Exhibitions
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the painter's entire creative parable through more than one hundred and twenty works, coming from important public and private collections
Among the most significant and sensitive interpreters of the artistic climate of the first half of the twentieth century, Funi took part in the most important movements of the time: from futurist research to the attention to the poetics of magical realism, from the dialogue with the New Objectivity to the recovery of tradition Italian Renaissance and classical antiquity.
Over one hundred and thirty works illustrate the path of a modern artist devoted to classicism who, through passionate research into pictorial techniques and forms, was able to gain a leading place in the panorama of Italian art of the 20th century.
