Torneo del Fante

On Saturday April 18th, at 3pm, in Piazza del Municipio, the Torneo del Fante (Tournament of the Foot Soldier) will take place, with the champions of the eight districts armed with shields and clubs in a chivalrous challenge that promises spectacle and rivalry.

The Tournament involves the eight Contrade in a chivalrous challenge between their Champions of Arms, who face off in “duels”, armed with shields and clubs, to win a coveted prize to be awarded to the Champion of the city.
