From 27 August to 6 September 2026, the event organised by the Contrada S. Giacomo returns to Ferrara, featuring a reconstruction of a medieval camp with scenes of daily life, battles between warriors, performances by actors, jesters and fire-eaters, musicians and flag-wavers, as well as archery and crossbow tournaments.

In the camp's taverns you can taste delicious gastronomic specialties and in the merchants' street you can visit the stalls with artisanal products.

The festival's highlights are the re-enactment of the Battle of Cassano d'Adda and the spectacular Giostra equestre del Monaco, a medieval jousting contest where knights from the cities of the White Eagle compete for the coat of arms of the Este Paladin.

Taverna dell'Aquila Bianca

Court of Games
Medieval games of skill and archery trials for everyone: every day from 6:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 pm

Merchants' Street
Market organized in two areas featuring both historic and modern stalls.
Every day from 7:00 pm. Saturday from 5:00 pm. Sunday from morning.

La Maga Pasticciona
Workshop for Children, every day from 6:30 pm – Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 pm. Reservations recommended: +39 339 1110430, Sessions last 20 minutes and include goodies and surprises. Free donations to support ANT projects.

Riding Centre
Pony rides every day from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM

Medieval Camp
The soldiers’ camp is open daily from 7:00 PM

Arena del Baluardo
Every evening from 9:00 PM, shows with jesters, fire-eaters, theatre performers, historical processions and courtly displays. Re-enactment of the Battle of Cassano d'Adda.
