Festa di San Cassiano

From 9 to 13 August, Comacchio celebrates its Patron Saint, San Cassiano, with five days of events featuring music, shows, traditions, street food, a funfair, a historical regatta, bingo games, and the traditional fireworks display.

From 7 to 13 August

Open daily from 4:00 pm to midnight.

Tuesday, 11 August
Basilica Con-Cathedral of San Cassiano
9:00 pm – Accuratio et Expressivitas, organ concert by Fabio Ciofini as part of the Emilia Romagna Festival.

Wednesday, 12 August
Piazza XX Settembre
From 6:00 pm – Opening of La Plaza del Gusto, a street food area featuring specialties from around the world, also open on 13 August.
9:30 pm – Concert by the Ophidia Band.
Midnight – Draw of the merchants’ bingo with a €2,500 prize pool. All proceeds will be donated to ASD Comacchiese 2015.

Thursday, 13 August – Feast of San Cassiano

Stazione Foce – Comacchio Valleys
6:00 pm – Musical Meetings at Foce: “Purple, Starman and Freedom”, curated by the Comacchio Municipal Music School.

Piazza XX Settembre
6:00 pm – Opening of La Plaza del Gusto, a street food area featuring specialties from around the world.
6:00 pm – Basilica Con-Cathedral of San Cassiano: solemn Holy Mass in honour of the Patron Saint, including the traditional blessing of the typical Comacchio boats taking part in the Historical Regatta.
7:00 pm – Navigable Canal – Departure from the ANMI Club (Via dello Squero, 2): Historical Regatta of San Cassiano featuring traditional vulicepi, the characteristic boats used for navigation in the Comacchio Lagoons. At the end, tasting of fried fish from the lagoons, organized by the APS Barche Storiche Association.

9:30 pm – Concert by Supersoul.

9:30 pm – “Quasi… Tale e Quale Show”.

Piazza XX Settembre
11:30 pm – Draw of the bingo with a €12,500 prize pool and the lottery with a car as the prize. All proceeds will be donated to ASD Comacchiese 2015.

Afterwards, at Ponte San Pietro, the traditional fireworks display will light up the sky over Comacchio, bringing the celebrations for the Patron Saint to a close.
