Impronte da Schifanoia

The exhibition at Casa Ariosto presents twenty works by Ferrara painter Riccardo Mayr, inspired by the decorations in the Salone dei Mesi (Hall of the Months) in Palazzo Schifanoia, a masterpiece of the Este Renaissance.

Created on pages from ancient books and family documents, using a mixed technique that gives the surfaces the appearance of ancient painted walls, Riccardo Mayr's works encourage reflection on the relationship between past and present, on time, on memory and on the ability of images to continue to have an impact in different cultural contexts.
